Fuorisalone 2017 in textures: this was the second year that I have lived the Milano Design Week through the eyes of allyoucantexture. So, I decided to give an account of all allyoucantexture’s best ofs.

Material Village was an outdoors village created by Material ConneXion Italia specifically for the Milano Design Week and it was where we held our first Milanese WEMEET when we celebrated the first three years of WEBLOG. Inside Superstudio Più, in the Tortona area, Material ConneXion Italia also presented the exhibition “New Materials for a Smart City” dedicated to sustainable materials and to the new smart cities.

If you’re curious to find out the smartest and most innovative textures have a look at  allyoucantexture’s profile.

Cerasarda | Fuorisalone 2017 in textures

Ceramics telling stories about nature, leaves engraved in ceramics like traces left behind. Porcelain gres doesn’t imitate other materials, rather it reveals itself in the new collection “Abitare la Terra” by Cerasarda. I’m sure you’ll be perfectly able to recognize the texture I’m talking about.

ABK | Fuorisalone 2017 in textures

Can you see those houses in the upper right corner? It looks like they’re drawn on a piece of paper, but really they’re engraved on a porcelain gres tile two and a half metres long. ABK at Fuorisalone decided to amaze with huge tiles and focused on the qualities of cleanliness and maintenance of the material. Tiles in porcelain gres to color and easy to clean: the perfect game for kids and adults alike.

Orodè Deoro for Victoria+Albert | Fuorisalone 2017 in textures

A mosaic made of ceramic tiles, primary colors. It looks like a bidimensional surface, but it’s the ceramic coating of a bathtub by Victoria+Albert bath, decorated by Orodè Deoro to create a unique piece of design. Or is it more appropriate to call it “art”?

Marazzi | Fuorisalone 2017 in textures

A surface decorated with the use of state-of-the-art technology. Augmented Surface couldn’t not be part of my allyoucantexture list. To know more about Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel’s project you can read my post dedicated to Augmented Surface.
