My work at Fuorisalone is done. I finished meeting an old acquaintance: Per dormire, a project of beds of democratic design, I’ve already written about some time ago (do you remember these 4 moodboards?).
Last Friday I was in XXV Aprile Square and there I discover The Dream Bedroom, an installation created by the archistar Fabio Novembre, to present the collection of beds called A fairy tail to sleep.
Moon and sky were inserted in a magical atmosphere where the enchanting darkness of the Moon embraced the sweet softness of the Cloud.
However, why was this project born?
I asked Paolo Luchi, Per Dormire marketing director.
The final aim is to show the role of design in the creative process of products having the functionality as their main essence. Beds find their highest expression in the balance among bed, mattress, pillows and mesh.
Fabio Novembre’s choice based on these values and was born from the desire of widely spreading design elements, not only to the Italian élite. We are deeply convinced that everyone has the right to sleep well.
The project
as usual I’m curious to know the planning iter, so I asked.
I’ve realized it took two years to create the collection. From Fabio Novembre’s idea, the Materassificio Montalese developped a creative process of democratic design and permitted the realization of six low-cost beds, under 1000 euros.
There are six beds for “Una Fiaba PerDormire” collection and they take the name after fairy elements: Castle, Princess, Queen, Dress, Moon, Cloud. They tell short stories referring to enchanted universes.
