DECOR | INTERIOR TRENDS WHICH ARE GOING TO LAST IN 2019

Cersaie 2018 has just finished, the International Fair of Bologna entirely dedicated to the bathroom and the ceramic for the architecture.

While last year I found five different strong themes, Cersaie 2018 confirms those trends of ceramics 2017: terrace and fragments, marble effect, cloth, wax effect and geometry.

Each of these trends has been reintroduced by the great brands of the field, enriched by new ideas and textures

Anyway, the real innovation 2018 is the DECORATION.

After years and years of neutral colours such as grey, beige and dove-grey, 2019’s house is decorated. Colour bursts into every places and gives them new energy.

One of the most interesting set-ups, Marazzi Society’s one, is the demonstration: the stand has been designed by Studio Blanco and it’s inspired to the exclusive clubs traditionally reserved only to men.

The space is composed by 7 rooms,  [Reader’s Corner, Cinemateque, Game Room, Music Room, Fumoir, Barber e Living], developping around a winter garden, and each of them is thought to express a concept and a specific function.

However, the decoration is particulrly evident in five of them:

Reader’s Corner

The reader’s corner is entirely dedicated to the action of reading: the stoneware in wood effect creates a perfect surface to underline the white paste of the walls. Alchimia Gipsy is a floral upholstery on a white basis, creating an impressive effect and an original ad elegant decoration.

I observed the reactions of visitors when they entered the room: their eyes were amazed and fascinated.

Fumoir

Fumoir is instead a place with a soffused light, where the decoration is more delicate: on the floor there’s the seminato alla veneziana of Art collection, according to the fragmented trend; while on the wall the new collection Eclettica stands out in its 3D dimension. It calls to mind the concept of geometric decor and enriches it with eight modern chromatisms.

Music Room

The music room is maybe the most relaxing room of the entire Society Marazzi: decoro Alchimia made every line softer, despite the strong geometric component, reminding that the decoration is not a annoying element, but a more delicate and effective one.

Game Room

While the prevalent effect seems to be the marble effect (and maybe it is), the laying is the like the one of decoration. The masterfully layed marble reproduces a chess board, thank to two effects, Statuario and Saint Laurent, both in the lux version. The result is a suggestive decoration that makes us think of walking inside a game.

Winter Garden

In the end there’s the winter garden, where the decoration meets the fragmented trend reaching its best expression; The D_segni collection, the typical 20×20 cm stoneware gets enriched by chips and colours. It results then a concrete and familiar effect.
